Meet Matthew
Hi, I’m Matthew Mitchell—founder of Mitchell Consulting, and someone who has worked in—and led—nonprofit organizations firsthand. I know how draining it can be to keep up with admin, outdated tools, and competing priorities. That’s why I help nonprofits embrace smart, sustainable tech solutions—especially AI—in ways that are ethical, practical, and human-centered. My work is rooted in empathy and guided by strategy. I partner with teams who want their systems to serve the mission—not slow it down.

Where it started
Based in Ottawa, Ontario, Mitchell Consulting was founded around a simple truth: when nonprofits are freed from the grind of administrative overload, they can focus on what matters most—mission-driven impact.
The Turning Point
While leading nonprofit organizations and serving on boards, I saw a pattern emerge: overwhelmed staff, outdated systems, and the elusive promise of technology. Discovering the right tech tools—especially automation and AI—transformed not just my calendar, but our team’s capacity to achieve more with less.
That experience was a turning point. I realized many nonprofits face similar challenges: recognizing the value of technology, but lacking the time, bandwidth, or confidence to implement it. Even when the benefits are clear, the path forward can feel risky, unclear, or financially out of reach.
